An inaugural post and a fugly party

So I am joining in with the Fugly Party being organised by Lucy over at Charm About You. Last time this party lead to me not only winning some not so fugly fabric (my first giveaway prize) but also saw me make a lovely new friend.. More on that another time!

For now I just want to get in there and write this blog. It has been in the works for some time as I am a bit of a quilter who has been busy lurking in many gorgeous blogs. Finally Cath (my friend and business partner at Corduroy Corner) and I decided to jump in and explore this new land together!

I should note that neither of us knows much about writing a blog, so please, grin and bear with us...

So, what have I got on offer for you my new fugly friends?

How about;
  • Some fussy cut Dick and Jane by Michael Miller fabric (about 1/3 yard, like I said I fussy cut it, see the detail shot--wouldn't you not want to waste it too?)
  • 20 x 5 1/2 inch yellow and white polka dot charms. I cut these for a quilt I made this month for a friend who had her first bubba, I have posted a pic below because I was just very happy with how it turned out! As I cut too many I thought you might like to use them in a project.

OK, back to the giveaway..

How do you enter?

Well, since we are a new blog, and we want to get to know everyone participating, this fugly giveaway is only open to those who follow our blog. If you are a follower then entering is easy! Simply leave us a comment letting us know what your inaugural post was about (if you're a blogger) or what you would write about if you did dip your toes in the land of blog.

Bonus Entry
(because we all love an extra entry!)

Head over and like Corduroy Corner on Facebook and come back here to leave us a comment. You will see a bonus surprise over there too (wink, wink)!

That's 2 chances--YIPEE!!

Giveaway ends 15 May to coincide with Lucy's giveaway and I will post the prize anywhere!

Blessings to all new friends
Helen

  1. I am a new follower (#3)! I bet that number goes way up since you are having a giveaway. My first blog post was just a statement saying that I was New2quilting (and blogging) obviously. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway. This is a great way to make new friends!

  6. Hi, I am now a follower. I love to find new, small blogs. I just started last November myself. I just showed a quilted pillow I made in he 1980's, and admitted I followed too many blogs. :) Welcome!

  12. I just found you via your comment on FQ Swap Australia, and came for a squizz...ok, so I came for a sticky beak, ya got me!

To answer your question, my first post was actually a Happy New Year one (http://beeshebags.blogspot.com.au/2008/12/happy-new-year-everyone.html) but, as that was like 3 & 1/2 years ago, I can't even remember if I had a previous blog or what the address for it was...but on reading that post, I must've lol Or I managed to delete the old one or something silly like that!

I'm a new follower.....and am about to go stalk, read you on FB now!

    Hugs
